The Center for Spiritual Emergence is relocating and will be open Fall 2025.
The Center for Spiritual Emergence is relocating to the coast of North Carolina. Relocation requires us to undergo a relicensing process as well as completing construction at our new facility.
This facility will provide the optimal set and setting for patients (from Latin “patiens” "one who suffers") to safely experience their innate healing resources, fully experiencing, expressing and integrating the holotropic states emerging during spiritual emergencies. The program is designed to fully implement the extraordinary work of Stanislav Grof, MD to facilitate the health and wellness of people attending this program.
Patients will have 24-hour psychiatrically supported care through our licensed partial hospitalization program and supervised community living. Master’s and doctorate level clinicians including, psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, advance practice addiction specialist, ministers with at CPE training, PMHNPs and specially trained certified Peer Support Specialist ensure safe, quality care designed around the practices and principles of holotropic therapy. A staffing ratio of 2 professionals to 3 patients are formed with a primary therapist and Peer Support Specialist dyad working together with a multidisciplinary team. All staff receive clinical supervision, education and training in working with holotropic therapy within their scope of practice.
There will be opportunities for paid internships for professionals with appropriate professional licensure. Interns will also need to have a significant background in working with holotropic states in general and spiritual emergencies specifically. Internships will be a minimum of 3 months.
We anticipate opening a second, sister program in Santa Fe, New Mexico approximately 18 months after the North Carolina program opens.
